Foodservice Industry Wellness and Addiction Resources

CHOW

CHOW is a non-profit organization that provides mental health resources to folks in the hospitality industry. Our mission is to support wellness within the hospitality industry and to improve the lives of our community through shared stories, skills, and resources. We are trying to reduce the stigma and address concerns that have been long overlooked in the hospitality industry.

CHOW offers six group discussion meetings a week. These meetings are open to all – chef, servers, bussers, bartenders, owners, suppliers, farmers, writers, dishwashers, and industry veterans. Meetings are facilitated by an “Expo” (a person who has walked the path of recovery from mental illness/substance use disorder and is trained to assist others in their recovery). We currently have one Spanish meeting and one ALL women’s meeting, the rest are open to everyone. Our meetings have a topic or theme to consider and discuss and have been described as “a post-shift hang out without the drinks.”

Bens Friends
Ben’s Friends is a community of chefs, bartenders, line cooks, servers, sommeliers, host and hostesses, GMs and owners who have found or are seeking sobriety. Our mission is to offer community, hope and a path forward for those struggling with substance abuse and addiction. At our core, we are hospitality workers who have found connection, and the tools to seek and maintain sobriety while managing our careers and lives in a sane and purposeful way.

Ben’s Friends also has daily meetings online and weekly meetings in towns across the country and are open to anyone interested in sobriety and support, whether they are currently sober or just beginning their journey. They have a goal to provide a safe space for members to connect and support one another with compassion and acceptance. Their one-hour meetings are currently taking place on Zoom as well as in the following cities throughout the country.

He works with individuals to help them create their “Big Shift” and develop confidence in their decision making and results. Jeff also develops coaches. So if you’ve ever wanted to develop your coaching skills to manage your team in more productive ways, Jeff is a great resource to give you the tools needed to engage with your organization from a healthier and more positive perspective.
Jeff- Caliguire Coaching

On average adults take fifteen breaths every minute. In other words, each of us has fifteen great opportunities every sixty seconds to stop and “wake up.”

15sixty was established to help business leaders and their teams wake up to their potential.

In their view “waking up” simply means becoming an observer of our lives. It means creating awareness of what’s driving our behavior, what’s keeping us stuck, and what’s in the way of us living and working with more ease in our lives.

When we have the presence of mind to stop and observe ourselves caught in our patterns, our potential for creativity and connection with others expands exponentially.

15sixty’s network of coaches, trainers, and consultants are dedicated to waking up in our own lives, and supporting others to do the same.
